BokeeliaWeather.com

Good news for folks in Bokeelia. We’ve been working Pete and Lora Rials to put up a weather station on their property that is now accessible online at: http://bokeeliaweather.com!

The site includes most of the same weather information you’ll find at St. James City Weather and is located in the Pineland area just off Stringfellow Rd. The station is very well sited, meaning that the sensors are placed in almost ideal locations. For the most part the site is up and running though there is still some tweaking to do on a few of the pages most notably the station information page, and the historical graphs.

I’m pretty excited about this because we can now begin to collect to factual data to make some comparisons between the two areas. Enjoy and let us know what you think!

Summer Pattern

Friday, May 15th, 2009

Sure seems like summer out there with the storms building up inland in the middle of the day and working their way westward to the islands. So far we haven’t been on the receiving end of any significant rainfall but you only have to go a mile in any direction to find some good soakers. Hopefully the pattern will stay in place for a while and make a dent in our rain shortfall.

In other news, folks on the Bokeelia end of the island should keep their eye to the blog over the next several days as we’ll have some significant news to announce on our efforts to get some more weather stations in place on the island!
